We keep your name, your email, your phone number, the date and size of the dinner, and anything you tell us about what you like to eat. We use it to reply to you and to plan your dinner. We don’t ask about allergies at this stage. It is deleted six months after you send it, or sooner if you ask, and the database keeps a recoverable backup copy for up to 30 days more.
If you book an intro call, your name, email and phone number also go to Cal.com, which puts the call in Melissa’s diary and emails you the invite. Melissa deletes the booking from Cal.com within 30 days of the call, and the website checks every day that she has.
We keep your first name, your mobile number and your email address. We use them to send you the link for adding your guests, to email you the names of anyone who hasn’t replied two days before their answers are due, to tell you when everyone has replied, and to tell you if the dinner is cancelled — nothing else. They are deleted 30 days after the dinner, with the same backup copy for up to 30 days more.
Your host gives us your first name and your mobile number so that we can send you one link. What you tell us about allergies is health information. We only keep it because you ticked the box saying we can, and only Melissa sees it. She deletes it 30 days after the dinner, and the database keeps a recoverable backup copy for up to 30 days more. If you tell us you can’t come, it is deleted straight away. We only message you after the dinner if you ticked that box too (for Melissa to ask you for a Google review).
On Cloudflare’s servers in the EU, in a database only Melissa can open. Text messages go through Twilio and emails through Resend; they handle the message and nothing else. Intro calls are booked through Cal.com, as above; Cal.com stores its bookings in the United States, under its standard data processing agreement. The enquiry form runs a Cloudflare spam check called Turnstile, which looks at how your browser behaves rather than at who you are. The website is looked after by Calibrate, under a written agreement with Melissa. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising.
You can ask to see, correct or delete anything we hold, or take back a tick you gave us, at any time — email kitchen@melissadeprezzo.com and we will sort it. If you are unhappy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
The public site sets no cookies and no tracking of any kind. The spam check on the enquiry form may set one short-lived Cloudflare cookie while it runs. If you are sent a guest link, or if you are Melissa signing in to her kitchen pages, those pages use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and they remember your light or dark choice on your own device. That is all.
